Rahne Returns to New MutantsCh-Ch-Ch-Changes
18Feb04

What can I say besides "Nunzio DeFilippis and Christina Weir DELIVER."

Rahne's BackRahne Sinclair is back in action baby, and THEN some. Not only does she sport a provocative new look and a mature new outlook, but she has been written with a dignity and style that she has long deserved--and somehow, the sweetness is still there. The artist for issue #9, Carlo Barberi, did a bang-up job. Rahne is truly a sight for sore eyes, and a hot one at that.

Bad to the BoneYes, it is shocking to see her new appearance at first, but considering all that she has been through, it only makes sense that she might reinvent herself. And anyway, is there anything more cool than a redhead with a skull and crossbones on her motorcycle helmet?

Delivering the SmackdownRight off the bat, we see Rahne as a seasoned veteran. Even without her powers, she trounces Avalanche without taking a scratch! I'm still snickering over the X-Jet pulling up and Kurt and Alex looking like Johnny-Come-Latelies.

NM GirlsNaturally, there's the happy reunion between the three original New Mutant girls. We are told that the accent is gone (presumably it ran off with her inhibition, haha).

Rahne, Josh, & LaurieAnd it looks like New Mutants Love Triangle #1 is revealed. Simply put: Laurie likes Josh likes Rahne.

For those of us who waited patiently for Rahne to make a prominent re-entry that treated her as more than the spice of the group, this issue is a welcome sight, and the future looks bright indeed.

New LookLastly, here's an up-close look at Rahne Sinclair's bold re-entry to comics.
