This is MY fiery torch, Reverend--I KNOW about you.Enemies

The average mutant has no shortage of enemies, and Rahne is no exception. The first time she faced danger at the hands of another person was when Reverend Craig chased her down with a pack of torch-wielding, self-righteous villagers.

Wolfsbane faces her abusive former guardian.

While Xavier was gathering the original five New Mutants, Rahne and the others found themselves in combat with Donald Pierce, the mutant-hating cyborg who was previously a member of the Hellfire Club's Inner Circle. Rahne was severely wounded in the confrontation, but fully healed in a short time.

Pierce is a real jerk. Rahne suffered a punctured lung in this fight, and could have died.

Rahne's first encounter with Sentinels came almost as soon as she arrived in the United States. As if to make Xavier proud, the team did well against the machines.

Rahne and the other New Mutants were repeatedly in competition with the Hellions, another fledgling mutant team from the Massachusetts Academy (a school run by the Hellfire Club). Although Rahne was always on friendly terms with Catseye, she could not help but view the Hellions as rivals.

During the second Secret War, Rahne and the rest of the New Mutants were slain by the Beyonder, an extra-dimensional and seemingly all-powerful being. The Beyonder ressurected them, but in the process, Rahne and the rest of the team lost much of their training and suffered psychological damage.

Not long after this, Rahne and the entire team was absorbed in the Hellions by the villainous White Queen. Her intentions were far from benevolent, and it took the Avengers to set things right.

Though Rahne's power might seem relatively unimpressive, she has consistently faced enemies of incomparable might, in the interest of helping her friends. She has faced Warlock's sire, the Magus (a being capable of ripping stars in two) on numerous occassions.

Rahne's teammate Karma was for a long period possessed by the malicious psychic entity known as Amal Farouk, the Shadow King. Farouk caused the young mutants much grief and violence before Karma was finally rescued.

When the New Mutants were taken captive by the maniacal scientist who called himself the Ani-Mator, Rahne's spirit was nearly broken. Her close friend Doug (Cypher) Ramsey was killed in the battle, just as their romance was beginning to blossom.

Fear me! For I am poorly drawn and edited even worse!

It was in that same battle that Rahne first encountered Cameron Hodge, who later was responsible for putting Rahne through the tortuous process of becoming a mutate. By this process the Genoshans created slaves from mutants; it left the mutates without will, physically bonded to their uniform, unable to procreate, and psychically bonded to another in an inhuman master/slave relationship. Note that while some of the X-Men underwent only part of the process, Rahne was transformed fully into a mutate. Though she was partially healed after the X-Men defeated Hodge, it was a long time before Rahne was fully healed by Haven. Until then, Rahne could not revert to human form without being reduced to the mental state of a mutate, and was still psychically bonded to Alex (Havok) Summers. Rahne's torments during that time were nearly unbearable, and made her very agressive.

Hodge is a world-class psychopath.

While she was still partially healed, Rahne fought Feral, a girl with powers very similar to her own, and trounced her in a vicious, bloody battle.

Other than Reverend Craig, perhaps Rahne's greatest enemy is Mystique, who killed Rahne's adopted mother Moira MacTaggert. Rahne swore revenge the night Moira died, but since then, the two have not crossed paths.
